ReFrame Solutions has been selected unanimously by the North Carolina State Board of Elections to improve the State Election Information Management System, providing interim upgrades to software first built in 1998 while the state plans a future replacement.
The improvements are expected to make the system easier for State Board staff and county boards of elections to use, strengthen security, expand transparency and public access to election data, and make election administration more efficient.
According to State Elections Director Sam Hayes, six companies submitted bids and the proposals were reviewed by an internal procurement team. State Auditor Dave Boliek separately described the current campaign finance system as “at least 20 years behind the times,” underscoring the broader need for election technology modernization.
